A Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Peppa lab to work on the immunology of HIV/HBV infection to advance cure strategies. Post doctoral research fellow position is available at the Tan Lab at the University of Iowa to further our understanding of host immune responses against opportunistic viruses. The lab seeks to understand the interactions of NK and T cell immune responses to viruses such as the human polyomaviruses JC and BK, which cause devastating diseases in immunosuppressed patients. Candidates should have a PhD or MD, with a background in immunology. Additional expertise in virology is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, preparing and presenting research findings at meetings, writing scientific manuscripts, and applying for fellowships/grants. About 500 m from the hotel you will find the Holmenkollen Frisbee Golf course. This is open all day every day and is free to play on, but you will have to provide your own frisbees.
